Trust is a feature

Sesqua privacy

Sesqua is designed around transparent networking and private personal data.

Messages you choose to send

Contact Sesqua sends the fields you enter to the Sesqua team by email when you select Send message. The public landing page sends your email address when you request updates. Diagnostics, API keys and diary records are not attached automatically. Copy message only copies text; it sends nothing.

Poster sharing

When you share a poster by email, Sesqua stores the recipient email address, poster title and ID, time, and sending result in its SQL database. Administrators can review this activity. A sent result means the mail server accepted the message; it does not confirm inbox delivery or that the recipient opened it. Sharing does not subscribe the recipient to a mailing list.

Your data belongs to you.

On the website, your pantry, recipes, meals, plans and preferences are stored in your private account database on the Sesqua server. The desktop installation stores its work locally.

No advertising trackers.

No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, ad network or hidden marketing SDK belongs in Sesqua.

No selling food history.

Searches, diary entries, recipes and goals aren't inventory to sell.

Explain network use.

USDA API calls happen because you search or request a record. Sesqua keeps only daily totals of page openings and browser sessions on its own server. No analytics cookies, names, emails, IP addresses, search text or food records are included. Optional personal analytics would require opt-in.

Privacy report — current foundation

Recent search history

On the website, signed-in search history is saved in your account space; guest history lasts only for the session. The desktop installation saves history locally. You can clear it from the search box.

USDA FoodData Central

Used for API-key testing, food search and food-detail lookup.

Anonymous site activity

Daily page and session totals are retained for 90 days. Sessions are counted when a browser connection opens; reloading can count again. No visitor identifier is saved and no third-party analytics service receives data. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable these counters. The desktop app does not collect these totals.

Diagnostics are opt-in

Sesqua may write technical errors to a local log. Nothing is transmitted automatically. If you request support, you can preview a diagnostic report before choosing to email it. API keys and diary contents are excluded by design.
